Removing arrival peak times and automating the yard
The Challenge
Before Entringo, Via3L had no online planning or booking for incoming freight. Trucks arrived at random times, which meant peaks in traffic that left drivers waiting long stretches to get loaded or unloaded, and staff on the ground trying to manage the flow as it happened rather than planning around it.
On a site this size, with many vehicles moving through every day, that kind of unplanned traffic doesn’t scale. Via3L needed a way to know who was coming and when, control the load on the yard at any given time, and cut down on the staff needed just to keep vehicles moving and checked in at the gate.
What we changed
Entringo Traffic gives Via3L an intelligent yard management platform where planning, access, and guidance run as one connected system rather than separate manual steps.
The deployment covers:
- Online booking, letting freight partners book a loading or unloading timeslot in advance and add shipment information as part of the process, so Via3L can plan staff resources around actual expected traffic rather than guessing
- Number-plate recognition, handling access automatically at all 4 gates across the yard and employee/visitor parking zones
- Dual-height guidance screens, visible to truck and car drivers alike, directing each vehicle to exactly where it needs to be
- A virtual queue system, managing turnaround during busy periods without requiring staff to direct traffic in person
- SMS communication, keeping drivers and staff updated through the process
Because the system adapted to Via3L’s existing processes and physical site rather than the other way around, there was no need to change internal workflows, and the cost of adoption stayed low.
Outcome
- Freight partners now book loading timeslots ahead of arrival, letting Via3L plan staff resources and control turnaround load at the hub instead of reacting to random peaks.
- Traffic management at the yard runs without dedicated staff. Physical and digital signage tells drivers exactly what to do and where to go.
- Security checks at the gate are automatic, removing the need for a guard to verify access rights for every truck entering the territory.
- Via3L has full visibility into incoming and outgoing freight, including imagery from checkpoints across the site, with historical data kept for later analysis.
“The Entringo system has helped us very clearly increase the efficiency of our loadings and processes. We know precisely when and who is coming and are thus able to manage our resources effectively. The quality of cargo flow management has also increased. Partners who have started to use the Entringo system can be sure that the vehicles that have booked a specific time slot can unload the goods at that exact moment, the cars don’t have long waiting times, and they will not be late for the following loadings. At the end of the day, it will all come down to our partners’ satisfaction. Also, we cannot get around the issue of security. Entringo gives us an excellent overview of who and when is in our territory, both current moment and during more extended history, so we have a perfect historical overview of the traffic.”

Via3L, one of the largest logistics service providers in the Baltics, runs a modern logistics centre in Estonia spanning over 35,000 square meters. Every day, the site sees a large volume of trucks arriving, queuing, loading, and departing, on a scale that needs planning and control to run without bottlenecks.
Technical outcome
The site runs across 4 gates and 2 zones, covering the yard and separate employee/visitor parking. Number-plate recognition handles access, paired with dual-height guidance screens visible to both truck and car drivers, an online booking system for loading timeslots, a virtual queue solution, and SMS communication with drivers and staff.
What they got
A yard that plans itself. Freight partners book their own timeslots ahead of arrival, drivers are guided through the site without needing staff on hand, and Via3L gets a full historical record of every vehicle that enters or leaves.
Main improvements
Arrival peak times are history. Manned security at the gate is no longer needed to check access rights, and staff no longer need to direct traffic on site. Both are now handled automatically, cutting operational cost while giving Via3L more control over the yard.
