In the world of large-scale timber and plywood production, logistical efficiency plays a key role in maintaining a competitive advantage. On a typical day, dozens of trucks pass through the gates of an industrial site. It is evident how even small delays or traffic jams can lead to significant operational delays. That is why Latvijas Finieris, the leading manufacturer of plywood and plywood products in the Baltics, decided to take a bold step. The company decided to fully automate its access control and parking management processes by adopting the Entringo parking system.
The result is a smarter, leaner and fully integrated system. It also frees security staff from repetitive guarding tasks and connects seamlessly with the company’s ERP and weighing systems. In essence, the system has transformed the way people, vehicles and data move around the site. The Power of Automation in Heavy Industry LogisticsAs mentioned in the introduction, sectors such as timber and plywood production require high operational efficiency in all aspects. This efficiency is not just a goal, but a necessity. This is the case at Latvijas Finieris, one of the leading plywood producers in Europe. In particular, the management of vehicle access, site processes and material flow were becoming increasingly complex. The main problem lay in the fact that traditional workflows relied heavily on manual intervention. This was augmented by the work of security guards tasked with monitoring access gates and managing vehicle movements within the yard. While effective at a basic level, this approach had its limitations. Indeed, there were often bottlenecks at entry points, human errors in vehicle registration and inefficient use of time by on-site staff. To meet these challenges, Latvijas Finieris adopted the Entringo parking system. Entringo is an automated, ticketless system capable of adapting to various contexts, be they commercial or private. It allows for fully automated access and forecourt management. In the case of Latvijas Finieris, vehicles now enter the site being recognized by the ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) system. This model enables a seamless and hands-free entry for registered transporters and suppliers. The advantage is also evident for the security teams. Indeed, they are no longer burdened with routine access tasks and can instead concentrate on security and supervision. Inside the yard, on the other hand, the movement of trucks is digitally guided and recorded, improving transparency and reducing delivery times. The Entringo parking system has therefore introduced automation that makes the flow of vehicles more predictable, minimizing downtime and increasing the productivity of the facility.
